Pottery for children
Creating ceramic items: Hand-moulding of a piece of clay and application of decorative motifs (esgrafitado, plastic decoration, cutting, stamping, etc.).
The kids made their individual bowls by hand using a plaster mould of a small bowl (Figure 1). For practical reasons it was not possible to remove the pieces out of the mould, and therefore only the inner surfaces of the bowls were decorated (Figure 2).
At the end of the activity there was still time for free modelling (Figure 3).
Once dried, the bowls were allowed to harden in an oven and returned to the kids.
