Cave painting

This activity started with an introductory lecture on the concept of time and prehistoric rock art as well as some notions of the techniques used in painting and carving.  This part didn't last long so that our little cave painters did not distract themselves.

Next the children were invited to mix paints (an easy-to-use product as opposed to pigments, difficult to handle) from primary colours. However, although the children accepted that the rock paintings have been carried out with colours available in nature, we noticed a general trend to choose vibrant colours such as blue or pink.

Once the figures to draw have been selected, the children applied the paints (either using their fingertips or using props such as toothbrushes) over the figures previously drawn in pencil on the walls of the room.

It should be noted that this activity was carried out with outstanding enthusiasm.
